What’s next for Canadian diamonds with the Washingtons at the helm ?
Dominion Diamonds Corp is about to complete the sale of their Canadian diamond mines and operations to the Washington Co.
while the Washingtons are heavily involved in mining, they do not seem to be involved in diamond mining or in the diamond trade.
The big question in my mind is not production levels or productivity but rather would the Washingtons have the foresight to bring Canadian diamonds to their old glory or would they just continue with regarding them as a common commodity ?
Some of us remember the glory days of the Polar Bear Canadian diamond. I’m not talking of the failed business plan but rather about the buzz among buyers eager to purchase a branded, luxurious, conflict free Canadian diamond.
Added value such as origin made a huge difference with Argile diamonds and many gem stones.
Looking forward to seeing the next chapter for the Canadian diamond ???
